There will be a memorial service for William Grafton Bucklin at 11:30 a.m. on August 6 at Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown.

This will follow a private ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.

Bucklin, born Nov. 2, 1928, died Sept. 14, 2021, at Penney Farms, Florida, retirement home after a long battle with cancer.

His parents were Francis T. Bucklin and Hope G. Bucklin.

He enlisted in the US Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He was a pilot for 31 years for Northeast and Delta Airlines.

He was an active member of Central Baptist Church in Jamestown, where he served on various boards and sang in the choir. He was an alternative energy enthusiast, incorporating them into his home in Jamestown. He loved flying, sailing, swimming, the outdoors and vanilla ice cream.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Morna G. Bucklin; two brothers, Lyman A. Bucklin and Allan F. Bucklin; three children, Duana M. Hodges, Grafton W. Bucklin and Glenn T. Bucklin; and four grandchildren, Jessica H. Bucklin, Samantha M. Wolski, Garrett J. Bucklin and Caitlyn M. Gross Bucklin. He was blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins ​​and many extended family members.
