Marshall, TX- The Centennial men’s and women’s cross-country teams wrapped up action at the Tiger Invitational hosted by East Texas Baptist University on Friday, which was highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the women’s 6K from sophomore Madeline Vacula (Belton, Texas) at Marshall City Arena.
Vaula ran a time of 25:22.2 and finished ahead of 30 other runners. ETBU’s Phoebe Dunham won with a time of 24:44.2.

The ladies and gents were joined by the host Tigers, men and women from Belhaven University, men’s and women’s teams from Concordia (TX), Millsaps College (M/F), men’s and women’s from ‘Ozarks (Ark.), LeTourneau University men and women, Jacksonville College men’s team, Jarvis Christian College men and Lane College men.
Centenary was back in action for the first time in over a month as the Maroon and White last competed in the Texas A&M-Texarkana University Collegiate XC Invitational on September 9. Vacula had her second consecutive impressive encounter after finishing third overall in the women’s 5,000 meter race with a time of 21.15.0 in Texarkana.
