BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – It was an Eagles battle Friday night at the Emanuel Glockzin Family Athletic Complex in Bryan when St. Joseph hosted Houston Second Baptist UM.

St. Joseph dominated the game from the first drive. Marc Mishler made a quick pass to Walker West near the 15-yard line to put the first points on the board.

A few practices later, Mishler would put the ball in the air again. This time he connected with Luke Johnson, waiting in the corner of the end zone to put St. Joseph ahead 14-0

Houston Second Baptist would score in the next practice to make the game competitive, but that would be the last time they would see the end zone.

With just under four minutes left in the first quarter, Mishler would make another big play. This time, keep the ball on the ground and throw it himself. Deep in his territory, Mishler fires up the jets and flies along the sideline to put the St. Joseph Eagles in the lead 20-6.

With less than two minutes remaining in the first quarter, Mishler again moved back to pass. This time he found Peter Najvar near the 30-yard line. Najvar crossed the field and flew along the sideline untouched to give the Eagles a 26-6 lead.

With just under nine minutes to go in the first half, Mishler threw a pass to the Colt Bundick, who eased his way into the end zone to widen St. Joseph’s lead to 34-6. .

The Eagle offense didn’t have all the fun. Walker West scored a defensive touchdown to put St. Joseph’s ahead 40-6.

A few minutes later, Misher put the ball in the air again, this time to Cam Phillips near the seven-yard line. Phillips easily entered the end zone untouched to give St. Joseph a 48-6 lead.

St. Joseph Eagle’s attack will not stop. With five minutes left in the first half, Jackson Carey would get the transfer near the 30-yard line. He broke a tackle and walked onto the pitch and into the end zone to put the game’s final points on the board.

The St. Joseph Eagles picked up the win, ending the night 57-6.

The St. Joseph Eagles have a week off and won’t play again until Nov. 4, when they hit the road to face the Living Stones Christian School in Alvin, Texas.
