Robert Hassell “Hass” Carlin, 82, a longtime resident of Monett, passed away peacefully with his family by his side and in the comfort of his home on Saturday evening November 19, 2022. Hass was born February 15, 1940 in Monett , son of the late Armond Sidney Carlin and Sibyl Lois (Browning) Carlin. Hass grew up on the family farm and graduated from Monett High School with the class of 1958. Hass served in the National Guard for several years, and as a young man worked as a truck driver for Friend Tire. Hass loved the outdoors and farming. He raised cattle for nearly twenty years and retired from Aramark Uniform as District Manager in Springdale, AR. Hass was a member of the New Site Baptist Church. He married Sandra Lyons on December 23, 1994. They were blessed with over twenty-seven years of wonderful memories made together. Survivors include his wife, Sandra; his son, Greg Carlin and his wife Hiedi; his daughter, Linetta Thurman and his wife Nancy Bader; two grandchildren, Mitchel Carlin and his wife Shelby and Madison Dickens and her husband Logan; and two great-grandchildren, Lilly and Presley; his sister, Meg McCaffrey, as well as a host of extended family and friends. Hass was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Beverley; two brothers, Kirk and Curtis; and two sisters, Barbara Sagehorn and Avonell Avondet. Memorial visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Buchanan Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Aaron Weibel officiating. Private interment will be in the New Site Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were suggested to the New Site Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
