After their first-round win over Drake, Murray State Women’s Soccer receives its next challenge from Southern Illinois on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Carbondale, Illinois. The game will be a Missouri Valley Conference Championship quarterfinal.

Morgan Bodker’s late-game winning goal took MSU past Drake in the first round as the Racers overturned their regular-season result with the Bulldogs to win 1-0 on Thursday night. The Racers will have to do the same with the Salukis on Sunday afternoon as the SIU won the regular season game 1-0 on Oct. 13 with the goal in the form of a penalty.

Murray State will look to Saraya Young, Hailey Cole, Sydney Etter and Lauren Payne to lead their offense as the group has combined for 12 goals and 12 assists this season.

Morgan Bodker and Mary Hardy provide an offensive threat from the Racers backline as each of the defenders has three goals this season. Grace Bodker started all 19 games for MSU this season and became the leading free kick taker while racking up a goal and two assists.
