Paul Brian Cosby, 78, of Newburgh, Indiana, died Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
Brian was born August 2, 1944 in Washington, Indiana to the late Chester Paul Cosby and Mary Lou (Ruble) Cosby. He graduated from Washington High School in 1962 and was a Baptist. Brian was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a member of the American Legion Kapperman Post 44. He owned and operated Cosby Custom Gunsmithing in Chandler, Indiana for over 35 years. Brian loved spending time at the Evansville Gun Club, the Red Brush Rifle Range and the Isaak Walton Gun Club. He never met a stranger and was known for his big smile. Brian enjoyed reading, grilling, fishing, shooting, working on firearms, and was a Civil War history buff.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Diane (Burress) Cosby; sons Michael Wade (Julie), Christopher Wade, MD, and Joel Cosby; brother Bart Cosby (Pam); grandchildren Emily Hayes (Matt), Katelyn Wade, Jackson Wade and Samuel Wade; and niece and nephew Lana Cosby-Jones and Todd Cosby.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Washington, Indiana. The burial will be private.
Arrangements are pending and are being handled by Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville, Indiana.
