Nancy L. (Caswell) (Bailey) Mason, RN, lifelong resident of Jamestown, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 in the presence of her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest A. Mason and daughter of the late Frederic C. Sr. and Hannah W. (Grinnell) Caswell.
A 1954 graduate of Rogers High School, Nancy continued her education at the University of Rhode Island, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Class of 1959.
Nancy became a US Navy nurse after graduating from URI and worked at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland. In 1960 Nancy married Leonard W. Bailey Jr., both of Jamestown, and decided to move there. Nancy worked as a school nurse in Jamestown for many years and was also employed by Aquidneck Medical Center, where she retired in 1999. She was a life member of the Jamestown Ambulance Association.
Nancy leaves behind her three children: William L. Bailey, Bonnie L. Waddicor (husband, Robert) and Robert M. Bailey (wife, Julia A. Gerald); seven grandchildren, Peyton Waddicor, Jacob Waddicor, Isaac Bailey, Lila Bailey, John Bailey, Calei Bailey and Aidan Bailey. She also leaves to mourn several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Frederic C. Caswell Jr. and Francis W. Caswell.
A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2022 at Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown. His burial will be private.
