CHILDREN and staff at St John the Baptist Elementary School in Belleek recently got creative to celebrate their start of the school year Mass.
Mass was celebrated by the chaplain, Father John Kearns, and all the children participated in the outdoor celebration of the Eucharist, through songs, prayers, readings and symbols. The celebrations were moderated by the P6 / 7 class and their teacher Edel Brown.
“It was a special occasion for the children to come together to celebrate our faith and our Christian values,” said school principal Aideén McGarrigle. “We were fortunate to have Father John Kearns, our chaplain, to celebrate with us.”
Father Kearns said: “It was my first time to celebrate mass on the grass and I feel honored to do so. “
