Laura Alice Gloria Rivers Eubanks, 86, died September 19, 2022 at her home in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Laura is a graduate of Howard High School and Cleveland State Community College. She was a retired LPN who worked at St. Barnabas Nursing Facility and Memorial Hospital. She was a founding member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Laura served faithfully with Pastor’s Aide Ministry, Deaconesses, Mothers’ Ministry, and sang in the choir.
She was a devoted, loving, and resilient mother to all who came her way. His love and faith will live with us forever. Our Mother will be truly missed.
Laura was a faith-filled, fearless, virtuous Christian woman. His love, loyalty, prayers and compassion for others are unmatched. Her faith in God transcended everyone she smiled at. Laura loved to sing, pray, mother children and show her love unconditionally.
Her prayers always mentioned all of her family members, especially her multitude of grandchildren whom she raised on Carousel Rd.
Laura was a phenomenal woman you could count on. His sense of duty, his faith, his community and his love for his children will live on forever in our hearts.
Laura was predeceased by her parents, Ida Mae Wise Rivers and Thurman N. Rivers, Sr; siblings, Thurman N. Rivers Jr., Ulysee Rivers, Sr, Cordia Mae Crawford, Yvonne Edwards and Beulah Elizabeth Rivers Finley; sons, Tyrone Rivers, Zackery D. (Natalie) Oliver, Sr, and Gerald Linder; grandsons, Xavier D. Oliver and Trill Wright; nephew, Timothy Rivers.
She leaves to cherish treasured memories, Eddie Eubanks, children, devoted and caring daughter, Dena D. Burks, Travis T. (Priscilla) Rivers, Sr., Kerwin (Deanna) Rivers, Todd Linder and Will Linder, brother, Erma Jean Morris Rivers; thirty-six grandchildren including,
Terrance (Brittney) Graves, Temeka Rivers Robinson, Zackery D. Oliver Jr., Tri’ene D. (Amanda) Davenport, Randall E. Davenport, Travis T. Rivers Jr, Ashley Rivers, Tenisha Rivers, Taurian Linder, Darrius Trollinger, Danielle Oliver, ReShauna Holmes-Rivers and
Darin (Shermika) Holmes-Rivers; more than 36 great-grandchildren; a caring niece, Kimberly Boyer; a host of other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Monday, September 26 at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, September 27 in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423 622-9995.
Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery, at time of entry at 1:30 p.m.
