LUBBOCK, TX (May 26, 2021) – Lubbock Christian University Volleyball Head Coach Keith Giboney finalized the 2022 Lady Chaparrals schedule, which sees the Lady Chaps open the season on August 25 at the Seawolf Invitational hosted by the University of Alaska in Anchorage. The Lady Chaps open play against Alaska Anchorage (10 p.m. Aug. 25), with their home opener scheduled for Sept. 1 against southwestern Oklahoma State, which also opens the Chap Classic .

The season opener not only marks LCU’s first trip to Alaska, but it will be one of three regular season tournaments the Lady Chaps will attend. LCU will play its first four regular season games in the Seawolf Invitational, facing Alaska Anchorage, Pittsburgh State, Alaska Fairbanks and Emmanuel College (Ga.). The Lady Chaps’ first four home games are part of the Chap Classic, which runs Sept. 1-3 with the LCU hosting southwestern Oklahoma State, Fort Lewis College, Adams State and Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). LCU will also participate in the Lone Star Conference Crossover in San Angelo, Texas, September 8-10, with non-conference competition against LSC foes UT Tyler, West Texas A&M and Angelo State.

The LCU has 27 games scheduled this season (12 at home), with 11 non-conference games and 16 conference games. This season marks LCU’s fourth season as members of the Lone Star Conference. They begin a 16-game conference schedule Sept. 16 with Arkansas–Fort Smith. The LSC will house 17 volleyball programs, leading the LCU to play everyone once and all 16 games split into eight home games and eight road games.

LSC will host the Lone Star Conference Championships (November 10-12) as an open playoff, as the top eight teams in the standings (based on 16 conference games) advance to the event. The LSC regular season champion will host the post-season event. The NCAA Division II South Central Region will run Nov. 17-19 and the NCAA Division II Championships will run Dec. 1-3 in Seattle, Washington.
