Dallas- The Centenary volleyball team lost 3-2 Friday night to the Dallas Christian College Lady Crusaders in a non-conference game.

The Ladies fell to 10-22 while the Lady Crusaders improved to 9-19. Dallas Christian took their home record to 5-5 and snapped a six-game losing streak. The Ladies won the first set, 25-19, then DCC tied the match with a 25-21 victory in the second set. The Lady Crusaders took a hard-fought 25-23 victory in the third set, but the Maroon and White responded with a decisive 25-14 victory in the fourth set. DCC closed out the victory with a 15-12 advantage in the fifth set.

Centenary finished the game with 77 digs, 49 takedowns, 41 assists, 14 service aces and four blocks. Dallas Christian had 75 digs, 590 kills, 43 assists, nine aces and nine blocks. Senior MB Liz Lowe (San Antonio, Texas) had a game-high 19 kills and added an ace and a block. Senior DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) had a team-high 14 digs and added three assists and a block. DS senior Mariah Martinez (San Antonio, Texas) had 12 digs and one kill.

Freshman S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) led the ladies with 18 assists and S/RS senior Rachel Demerjian (Glendora, Calif.) was right behind her with 17. Smith added nine digs, five aces and one kill and Demerjian also tallied five digs. Sophomore OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar land, Texas) had six top aces and had five digs and only needs six more to reach 300 for the season.

Sophomore RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, Louisiana) had 11 kills, five digs and an ace, and rookie MB Susi Curtis (Haslet, Texas) had four digs, two kills, a block and an assist . MB/OH junior Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) had three digs and three kills and hit 300 career digs.

Sophomore MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, TX) had a dig and a kill and second RS Aubrey Salazar (San Antonio, TX) had five kills and three digs. MB/OH freshman Jordan Wheeler (Baton Rouge, La.) added four kills, two digs and an ace, and RS freshman Jacqueline Deville (Bossier City, La.) had a assist, a recovery and a kill.

The ladies play their final two games of the season Saturday, a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference competitions, against the host school, the University of Dallas Crusaders (noon) and Austin College ‘Roos (3 p.m. ) in Irving, Texas. /.
