JNTU University (Gurajada-Vizianagaram) is preparing to improve infrastructure and introduce new courses to ensure good careers for students, according to its director R. Rajeswara Rao.

He said the government had prioritized the development of the new university by sanctioning additional funds which were needed to provide more classrooms, hostels, laboratories and other facilities.

“We plan to introduce new self-funding courses such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and other courses. Many students who join private universities for these courses will have the opportunity to pursue them at Vizianagaram itself. We have sought permission from the Andhra Pradesh State Board of Higher Education to introduce these courses in 2022-23,” Mr Rao said.

“As advised by the Registrar of G. Swami Naidu University, we are focusing on the compulsory internship program for all students in the first year itself. The university is trying to have an MoU with many industries in the northern Andhra region to ensure perfect training for the students during their university studies,” he added.

He said the new vice-chancellor and faculty could be appointed very soon for the university which came into existence on December 20, 2021 with the special order of the government. “With government support, the university will soon have state-of-the-art facilities,” he added.
