Robie Louise Hood passed into heaven on February 4, 2022. She was born on August 6, 1931 to Murphy Lee Giles and Wilma Ree Giles in Detroit, Michigan.

Hood accepted Christ at the age of 10 and joined the Baptist Church of Greater Macedonia. She married John Hood. From this union were born Diane and Darnell. Hood and his children were encouraged to move to Seattle by his aunts Magnolia Daniels, Eva Hopson, Narvell Johnson and did so in October 1966. Hood and his children joined his aunts in uniting with Peoples Institutional Baptist Church, Reverend Edgar Bratton. Hood served in his church, including Missionary Society and Usher Board. Hood served 36 years with the federal government. Hood’s community/civic service includes Rosettes Social Service Club, Treasurer AFGE Local 1170, Rainier School Parent Club. Hood received 13 years of “Avon Excellence” representative.

Hood had a passion and loved cruising. Later in life, Hood faced many health issues, but endured because God, the children, the church, and the families in the neighborhood loved and supported her.

Hood is predeceased by her parents, aunt, beloved sister/cruise partner Verna Samuels. Hood’s passing leaves heavy hearts for his beloved daughter, Diane, his son Darnell, several playgirls, relatives and friends in Detroit, Texas, Kansas, Seattle.

Funeral services were held February 20 at Abby View Memorial Park – Brier, Wa.
