LEAVITTSBURG — George L. Udall, 92, of Leavittsburg passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2022.

George was born on October 18, 1929 in San Pedro, California to George P. Udall and Lena Winans Udall. He attended Leavittsburg High School.

After high school, George was in the Navy, October 1948 to 1949, served in the Air Force from February 1951 to November 1954, and was also a member of the Air Force Reserve, from 1973 to 1975.

George was employed with Delphi Packard Electric as a tool and die maker for 49 years and served as a Warren City Councillor. George was a member of the Warren Baptist Temple. He loved the Lord and served Him in many ways: sponsoring missionaries, inviting missionaries to his home, and teaching Sunday school. George loved dogs, good food, gardening, bird watching and travel.

On October 13, 1956, George married the love of his life, Virginia Banning Udall. They were married for 51 years, until his death in 2007.

George is survived by his sons, George A. Udall of St. Petersburg, Florida and Kyle (Beth) Udall of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; daughters, Debra Udall Burns of Champion, Diane (Robert) Greer of Massillon and Ruth (Ray) Whiteley of Largo, Florida; nine grandchildren, Jim (Gracelynn) Douglas, Jonathan Douglass, David (Danielle) Greer, Anna (Mike) Payne, Steve (Becky) Greer, Hope (Jonathan) Moore, Jeremy (Maria) Greer, Matthew Greer and Andrew Udall; and 11 great-grandchildren.

His parents predeceased him; his wife, Virginia; brothers, Lyle and Carl; one sister, Evelyn “Exit” Lamson; and a grandson, Ronnie Martin.

Reverend Jim Dittmar will perform the funeral at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Crown Hill Funeral Park Chapel Mausoleum, 3966 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna. Friends and family can call one hour before services on Saturday noon. Burial to follow.

Selby TJ Fox Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, material tributes may be paid at Warren Baptist Temple, 2093 Ewalt Ave., Warren, OH 44483.
