CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Ohio Dominican remains atop the G-MAC softball rankings after winning two close games in Cedarville.

The Panthers left town with 2-0 and 3-2 wins.

The hosts only managed three singles in the opener. Casey Bertke11-6, went all seven innings of the circle with five strikeouts.

In the last drink, ODU scored two in the fifth and held on for the one-point win.

Each team totaled seven hits. Faith Bergner had two hits including a double for the Jackets, 18-13 overall and 3-7 G-MAC.

Bertke and Mariah Wallace had two hits each during McKenna Smith contributed a double.

Stinger Notes:

  • Black-smith, Arica Flaugherand Lexi Parson all distinguished in the opening.
  • Bertke’s complete game was his 12th of the season.
  • Smith started Game 2 in 4 2/3 innings with six strikeouts and no walks.
  • The Jackets only made one error on the field.
  • Ohio Dominican holds a 55-12 advantage in the all-time series.
