Ms Ella Mae Sharpe Parker, 90, was born in Iredell County, North Carolina on September 22, 1932, to the late Hugh Merlin Sharpe and Oatie Mae Lackey Sharpe Nixon. She left this life on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Ella worked as a private CNA.

In addition to her deceased parents, Ella was predeceased by a sister, Frances Epps; and four brothers, Hugh Merlin Sharpe Jr., William Sharpe, Ernest Carter Sharpe and Alburtus Sharpe.

She is survived by her husband, David Jones Parker of the house; one son, David Parker of Bowie, Md.; one daughter, Peggy Parker of Decatur, Ga..; two brothers, Furman C. (Esther) Sharpe of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Charles Kenneth (Virginia) Sharpe of Charlotte, North Carolina; one godson, Keith Sylvester (LaQuita) Parker of Florida; four sisters-in-law, Mary Lois (Paul) Parker, Lucy Mills, Mary Parker and Magdeline Davis Sharpe; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at New Life Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Mrs Parker will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until she is taken to the church for bed in state at 11:30 a.m. Family members will receive friends at the church from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. . Elder Wade Ikard will officiate and Elder Keith Williams will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Park in Statesville, North Carolina
