Indirect poll by Rajinder Nagar: BJP will focus on raising awareness, AAP on public support

In the aftermath of the announcement of Rajinder Nagar’s indirect vote on June 23, the region has become the epicenter of Delhi’s politics. The seat became vacant following the resignation of AAP leader Raghav Chadha, who is now a member of Rajya Sabha of Punjab.

For the BJP, the Vidhan Sabha constituency will be the focus of its June 1-14 outreach program which will seek feedback on the party’s eight years of governance at the Center. The AAP also plans to organize awareness initiatives and hopes that public support will propel it to victory. The Delhi Congress, meanwhile, plans to take on both the BJP and the AAP over the bulldozer issue.

BJP Delhi leader Adesh Gupta said the sensitization program will focus on the water scarcity in the region and the success of the Centre’s projects.

Under the umbrella of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), Ambedkar University has attracted more than nine times the number of applications it received last year, university authorities report.

AUD is one of 12 state government-run universities that chose to conduct their undergraduate admissions through CUET this year, with 44 Central Universities, 11 Deemed Universities and 19 Private Universities.

University officials said they received 3,03,413 registrations for which payments were made through the National Testing Agency portal. This is a massive jump from the registrations it received last year when candidates had to apply individually on the university’s website – around 32,000 paying registrations in 2021-22.
