California Baptist University kicked off Monday morning May 2 three days of opening celebrations.

The first was a graduation ceremony at its event center for students from the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Christian Ministries and the School of Music.

The ceremony inside the university’s large arena marked a change from the early 2021 season, when events were held outdoors with a limited number of guests to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. .

More than 1,880 students from private Riverside University are eligible to march for five introductory drills scheduled this week, a press release says. Five accomplished students were chosen to start each event with a traditional bell ringing, with seven rings for the seven decades since the institution’s founding in 1950.

Ceremonies are also planned for:

  • Monday at 2 p.m.: College of Nursing, School of Education
  • Tuesday, May 3, 9:30 a.m.: College of Behavioral and Social Sciences
  • Tuesday, May 3, 2 p.m.: College of Architecture, Visual Arts and Design; College of Health Sciences
  • Wednesday, May 4, 9:30 a.m.: College of Engineering, Institute of Leadership, School of Business
