Lea Kinkade Broussard, 67, of Cleveland, died Friday, January 28, 2022 at a local hospital.

She was born to the late EL “Buddy” and Lela Mae Coats Kinkade at the “home” of Gober, Texas on November 12, 1954. After graduating from Bonham High School, Lea attended and graduated from East Texas Baptist College. in social work. Lea married Danny Broussard on May 22, 1977. Together they worked with church youth and older adult groups. For the next twenty years, she worked as a social worker.

During these years, she became the mother of Kristan and Joshua and loved being a mother. As the children grew older, Lea decided to complete a Masters in Education at Lee University and began working and teaching students with special needs at Cleveland High School. There she found a love for students and developed learning skills in these students. With the help of several teacher friends, Lea expanded the lives of these students outside of school and Bradley County. She then became a grandmother to Samuel and Anna and her world turned to enjoy these two more than anything.

Leah loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. She found great joy in traveling and making memories with her family and friends. Léa will be missed by so many.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her two sisters, Barbara Jean Whaley and Helen Ruth Anderson.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Ray Broussard of Cleveland; children, Joshua Broussard and his wife, Jessica of Clute, TX and Kristan Terry and her husband, Eric of Cleveland; grandchildren, Samuel and Anna Terry of Cleveland; sister, Carolyn Little and husband, Wayne of Canton, TX; brothers, Terry Kinkade and his wife, Courtney of Cleveland, Danny Kinkade and his wife, Becky of Corsicana, TX and Marvin Kinkade and his wife, Toni of Whitewright, TX; several nieces and nephews; and many devoted friends.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Lovingood officiating.

His family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
