Coach of the Year: Cory Benavides, Friendswood
Benavides, who graduated from Friendswood in 2006, guided his alma mater to his most successful season in program history. The Mustangs reached the UIL Class 5A State Championship game after a semi-final win over Mansfield Legacy and ultimately fell short in a 2–1 loss to Georgetown. Hitter of the Year: Paul Smith, Sr., Episcopal (Rice)
Smith had a sensational season at the plate for Episcopal, which finished second in the Southwest Prep Conference. The senior Rice signee and receiver reduced .540/.602/.960 with 14 doubles, five triples, six home runs and 47 RBIs. He finished with a 1.562 OPS at 100 batting and went 4-for-8 with a pair of doubles, a home run and four RBIs in three games at the SPC Championships.

Pitcher of the Year: Alexander Petrovic, Jr., Concordia Lutheran (Auburn)
Petrovic was off for the Crusaders, who advanced to the TAPPS Division I State Semifinals. Auburn’s junior commitment went 8-1 with a 0.26 ERA over 53 innings of work. He held his opponents to a .164 batting average and finished with 71 strikeouts to just 10 walked. He also hit .352 at bat with 14 doubles, two home runs and 33 RBIs.

Coach of the Year: Kyle Kennedy, Bay Area Christianot
Kennedy guided the Broncos to their second straight Division III TAPPS State Championship this spring. Bay Area Christian defeated Fort Worth Lake Country 5-3 in the title game and finished the season with an overall record of 28-13.
